RPA (Robotic Process Automation) is a form of  technology used to automate repetitive, rule-based tasks. Rather than leaving these tasks to human employees, RPA bots can perform them on demand, in a fraction of the time. These processes allow organizations to become more efficient in their operations through intelligent automation. They are easy to set up and work on any platform. The conception of robotics in this case is not as the one we imagine from Hollywood movies or popular imagination. The main goal is to reduce the cost , increase the productivity and of course the accuracy. 

The supply chain involves an enormous amount of manually entered data via mails, emails and digital form, in addition the huge amount of data involved i.e. warehouse inventories, stocks, clients declarations, delivery dockets, invoices, purchase orders. These documents are all involved in the secured processes of proper delivery, in other terms to ensure the right parcel gets to the right targeted destination at the appropriate time following the proper international shipping regulations.

Having a human resource that constantly input the data and generates the appropriate document may be   monotonous , repetitive and time consuming work. Human resources may do the same tasks again and again thus involving mistakes. They may be tired, sick, bored, unmotivated or overloaded. The use machines have reduced the error margin, it can carry out the same task for 24 hours doing the same task programmed to do without mistakes.

Now let’s imagine a company that totally automated  all the labour intensive processes using modern technologies. RPA is a technology that has proven its effectiveness with time saving and expenses saving. In logistics RPA may  be  considered as a feasible solution thus implying enterprises  to get rid of their enormous paperwork. 

Advantages of RPA

Before checking out the benefits of RP technology  there is a desire to understand what RPA is. RPA in effect, is the use of Robotic processes automation to manage and apply  predetermined  tasks automatically . The logistics organization will perform this critical work quickly and reliably with RPA. These software robots then send an email to the related staff as well as the customer for potential use.

RPA can be used to create an integrated email correspondence network. If the tool is AI-enabled, it will be able to understand the information written in the email body and respond to the sender in a timely and coherent manner. Similarly, the tool can track shifts in customer order information automatically. Thus, in a period where logistics providers are under growing pressure to cope with consumers seeking cheaper rates for supplies and go-betweens charging ever-increasing fees for their services, the launch of RPA resources will offer much-needed relief. In reality, the use of RPA in logistics could be able to help them compete in this industry.
